Notice of Public HearingBy order of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Youngstown, 240 Lockport Street, Youngstown, NY a Public Hearing will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board room for the purpose of hearing all interested parties concerning the following: Tentative budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year commencing June 1, 2024 and ending May 31, 2025. Notice is also hereby given that the compensation to be paid to each member of the Board of Trustees from all sources remains unchanged and is as follows: Mayor, $7,498.00, Deputy Mayor, $6,151.00 and each Trustee, $5,656.00. The Village of Youngstown Clerk’s office is looking to hire a part-time Deputy Clerk-Treasurer who will work 25 hours a week.The position is an appointed one-year term by the Mayor with approval of the Trustees. The Deputy-Clerk Treasurer possess the powers and performs the duties of the Clerk-Treasurer when requested to do so or in their absence.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Customer Service – our number one priority is our Village residents.• Financial operations including documenting accounts payable/receivable, accounting entries, bank reconciliation, tax preparation and collection, budgeting, monthly reports and reporting as per NYS standards for municipal accounting. • Attending Board of Trustee, Planning and Zoning Board meetings as requested. The Village of Youngstown will be hosting Niagara County Veterans Service Agency's Officer David Wohleben, Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 8:.30-4:30 p.m. in the board room.The Veteran's Service Agency's aim is to insure that all veterans and their dependents have access to any benefits to which they may be eligible as the result of the veteran’s active duty, military, or naval service. There are benefits due to some reservists and national guardsmen, but, this must be determined on an individual basis.
